Casseys Auto Springs was established in 1970 by Walter Cassel. The current Dealer Principal, Hennie Brits, joined the company during the same year. In March 1973, the company obtained the Ford agency, which was the beginning of the company’s good fortune. Hennie Brits became the Used Car Sales Manager in 1974 and was promoted to General Sales Manager two years later. After 10 years of service to the company and community, he bid them farewell.
Casseys Auto Springs lured Hennie back six years later, and he became the General Manager, who saw them through to their first Dealer of the Year Award in 1990. This was the beginning of many awards won by Casseys Auto Springs. During 1994 Casseys achieved a Silver Class Award within the world class dealer program.
In 1995 Casseys was bought by Super Group Trading and Hennie Brits became the Dealer Principal. During Hennie’s reign as Dealer Principal, Casseys won numerous awards. During 2002 and 2006, Hennie achieved Dealer Principal of the year within the Super Group Dealership Division. In 2006, Hennie was amongst the seven finalists in the National Dealerships Association/Sewell’s Businessman of the Year against 827 other competitors. Casseys Auto Springs was awarded the Ford Dealer of the year for 2007. The Dealership was also runner-up for this prestigious award during 2005 and 2006.
Casseys has grown from strength to strength and is currently doing 27% of the new vehicle sales in Spri
ngs.
